The Blonde That Changed My Appetite

Anyone who's read my previous post might find this one repetitive, but thanks to @joanstewart for encouraging me to tweak and give it a deeper experience for #BeerSaturday.

As stated, I'm not much of a beer drinker. Oh, hells. Beer bellies and bloated tummies sound too uncomfortable for me. Maybe if they had a non-bubbly version. But we went on a food holiday last month and although sticking to my usual ciders and wine I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to test taste every beer my husband experimented with.

(I also think he'd be the best person to write this post, but naja.)

Sedgefield Brewery presented us with a complimentary beer tasting of six different varieties, namely Blonde Ale, Weiss Ale, Irish Red Ale, India Pale Ale, Tiddly Tortoise and Porter.

I'm sad we didn't take pictures. We were on holiday and the point was to be present and enjoy each other. But hey, what's the point of Google if you can't use them, right?

I present to you Blonde Ale. Like nothing I've tasted before. Light, crisp, a flirt to the senses. Ladies, if you're a bit of a prude like me in the beer department you will have found a new lover. This ale is less bitter, light and easy to swallow with an alcohol volume of 4.4%.

If you're anything like my husband, you'll appreciate the more bitter tastes. I present to you the India Pale Ale. While the packaging looks pretty minimal I guarantee you there's nothing minimal about the way this ale hits you.

It's packaged with a 5% volume with a more spicy and bitter taste. A bit too bitter for me. Now, I've been around the beer tasting department and I must say, this Blonde really knew how to seduce my senses. If you have not found yourself loving beer, I encourage you to give this a try. It's taken me two years to find something I would actually sit and sip. Bubbles and all.

If you're ever in the area, this ale is totally worth the trip. You can see it in my husband's face.

Cheers to you and cheers to me!
