Welcome to the stand of the wonderful Chicken Lady of Desa Setapak Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Of all the chicken I eat in Kuala Lumpur, this is the best.
It might be the best fried chicken I have ever eaten, and if I can get it a couple of times a week, I am happy!
I do not know her name, but she is so friendly and always glad to see me arrive. She speaks no English, and I speak no Malay or Chinese, but we get along just fine.
She works at night in a long line of other food vendors out of the street, and will not be in exactly the same spot each evening. Here you can see the area behind her on this particular night.
Everything she is selling is in this heated and lit cart. If I decide to sit down and eat in this area, my chicken will be piping hot.
This is the scene almost every time I come. I normally have to wait a few minutes to be served.
The only other thing on offer is small bags of delicious sauce. Don’t refuse it!
Here is the cart, when it was very full. I was early that visit!
I get two of the breasts in front. These have the ribs cut off with the rest of the bones still there.
In the back are skewers of kidneys, liver and boneless meat. I like them, but stick to my breasts. Two for 7.4 MYR ($1.75 usd), can’t be beat!
Back home now, my chicken does not even make it out of the bag before I dig in this time!
Here is one piece and the two sauce bags I get. I would prefer the sauce by the gallon. It’s that good!
Yup. Too hungry to do things right again. You can see how juicy this chicken is.
And now I am near then end and ready to get into my second sauce pack.

I highly recommend getting this chicken any night you are in the area. You will not regret it!
