Nowadays, we produce so much PLASTIC that we don't know what to do with it anymore ...Our bins are over-full, our oceans throwing up garbages and our beaches covered by plastic waste.
Honestly we are all a little bit responsible, from the cashier who gives plastic bags to all her customers, the client who accept it, the supermarket who over-wrapp fresh food and the government who dont always educate enought about this problem.
The solution is actually simple, stop using and producing plastic. However, there is an other alternative that might actually be the best solution for all, consumers, supermarkets and businesses.
A like-plastic bag but, instead of being plastic, being made from plant, totally degradable and so clean that you could even drink it !
The solution comes from a team of Indonesian ingeniors, chocked by the plastic pollution in their country and willing to make a diference for this world.
Together, this awesome team created AVANI, a company creating items made of Yucca in order to replace the so terrible plastic !!
Cassava, or also called Yucca, bags, wooden cuttleries, papers straws, they got THE solution to our huuuuge problem.
Avani goal is to replace all plastic items by environmentally friendly ones, their items are already on the market and start to be well-known around Indonesia. We can only hope a bright futur for Avani !!
By the way , during my last trip to France last december, I noticed that all small supermarkets were not giving plastic bags anymore but Cassava ones ! It's great to see such a smart initiative and hopefully the rest of the world will soon follow.
