I’ve been spending a lot of time looking at what exactly is in products we consume daily. Pictured are just a few random foods I found sitting around my house that I’m guessing many Americans would find “healthy”.. Gluten free crackers, salad dressing, etc. Yet in many of these products there’s one common pesky ingredient: sugar! Sure the salsa has agave syrup ( which may be better than high fructose corn syrup) but still, really? All these “little” servings of sugar add up.

I’m all for a little sweet treat every once in a while but all the added sugars in the breads, crackers, sauces, salsas, and dressings add up and aren’t necessary. The daily grams add out to hundreds of grams over a course of a year when you think about it long term.

Trader Joe’s has awesome options with no sugar added. I now always turn the product over and make sure to look for little to no added sugar-or any funky ingredients for that matter! Sure it may be harder to find stuff but you’ll find even better alternatives and feel good knowing you’re feeding your body nourishing foods :D look for that pesky ingredient- it’s hiding everywhere!
