Previous episode: Part 118
After Marie, my mother, visited her uncle Bertrand and his wife Naomi in Toronto, with my brother Philippe, they flew to Vancouver to visit us.
Of course, they stayed with us, as we were renting a large house in Richmond.
Something that has amazed me, who is suffering from jet lag, is that Marie did not. Whatever the time difference between her departure and destination, the next day she was already synchronized: not sleepy during the day and sleeping with no problem during the night.
My children were very happy to see their grandmother for several weeks, and Marie was happy to see her grandchildren that she had not seen for three years.
While Marie and Philippe were with us we went to visit Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. We went of course to Stanley Park, including the totem poles.

I am not sure about all the places where we went, but certainly, we visited the Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia, and the Vancouver Aquarium.
One weekend, Gaëlle had a track meet in Kelowna. So, we all went to see her run. I think we rented three bedrooms in a hotel, one for the boys (Philippe, Syrille and myself), one for my three daughters and one for Marie.
At the track meet, Gaëlle did her best performance in the 800m: 2 min 14.5 sec. I was very proud of my daughter and very happy that she did it with her grandmother watching her. She was 14 years old and it was an excellent performance for her age. Unfortunately, she never improved her time later.
While Marie and Philippe were visiting us, we learned that my other brother Antoine (number 6 out of 11) would move to Seattle with his family for his work.
After almost a month in British Columbia, Marie and Philippe returned to France. They will come back several times.
