Day 2 of our fully loaded trip from Quebec was finished with a night in beautiful Marathon, ON. The small town, perched atop the northern most tip of Lake Superior is a frequent stop for travelers following the Trans-Canada Highway along HWY17.
Fortunately, the town has built a campground located on a lake at the one side of town. It features full electrical pull-up for RV's, running warm water and fire pits including a grill to cook on. It's called Penn Lake Campground, and cost us around $27.00 for the night.
Originally we planned to use an old Colmeman camp-stove to cook dinner. The kind of stove where you have to pump pressure into the tank, then lock it to lock in the pressurized fuel. Unfortunately, there was a broken seal on the fuel tank, so we skipped out and went out for Chinese food. Highly recommended by us. link to restaurant
