Welcoming New Steemians

Many times recently, I have heard people moaning about the absence of any projects to welcome new Steemians, help them, and thus boost user retention on the platform. It's a shame those folks don't know that there are already such projects that are active, and have been for quite some time!

The one I wish to discuss here is @heyhaveyamet, which was conceived by Ren & Scott of the @xcountytravelers account. For over six months, they have been welcoming new Steemians and trying to point them towards resources that will answer their questions and help them feel more at-home here. Currently on the team to assist @xcountytravelers in their tireless efforts are the following awesome folk: @brittandjosie, @brisby, @derekrichardson, and @jamerussell.

Anyone who wishes to support the project may do so in one of several ways!

• Delegate some SteemPower (SP) to the @heyhaveyamet account. If you are unsure how to do that, or how to calculate a safe amount for you to delegate, feel free to contact me directly for assistance.
• Consider following the Curation Trail for the @heyhaveyamet account on SteemAuto. I have designated 100% of proceeds from this post to be paid to @heyhaveyamet in Steem Power (SP), but you can designate any percentage with which you are comfortable. In order to assist the efforts of the @heyhaveyamet project, Ren, @brittandjosie, and I established a new Discord server called the Steem Terminal, where Steemians can gather, get answers to burning questions, and learn about all the wonderful communities, front-ends, projects, and oddities of the Steem blockchain. Our goal is to provide some basic education regarding the Steem blockchain and the Discord app, and then help newbies connect with other communities and projects where they can feel at-home and thrive, such as @welcomewagon, TheRamble discord, @thealliance, @minnowsupport's PALnet, @homesteaderscoop, @canna-curate, and others. Assisting the @heyhaveyamet team in the SteemTerminal discord are @wesphilbin as Moderator, @medro-martin as greeter, too many volunteer gurus to name here.
