Yesterday I posted about wondering how high VOUCHER prices will go and now we have our answer!
I have been one of the biggest bulls when it comes to expected demand for SPS and VOUCHERS in the Splinterlands Chaos Legion pre-sale, but the current market activity is defying my wildest dreams!
I expected the first few sales at Hive-Engine.com to be at a very high price, but did not expect so much demand to flood the market at prices above 30 Hive per VOUCHER! That's more than $22 USD each!
Take a look at these buy offers. Even at 24 Hive each there are people putting up orders for 284 and 457 Hive worth of VOUCHERS. Thousands of Hive are sitting on the buy side above a price of 20 Hive.
At the one-hour mark of sales, over $14,500 worth of VOUCHERS have been bought and sold.
After seeing the incredibly strong demand for VOUCHERs, I am very glad that I staked all of my SPS yesterday so I can try to sell into this price level. Interestingly, even with the price of VOUCHERs being so high, there has not been a flood of SPS getting staked as a result. We are still sitting at about 96 million liquid SPS, the same as earlier today.
My eyes are now turning to the SPS market as there should be a very large demand increase for staking SPS since the VOUCHER value is so high. For example, my 6157 staked SPS spun off 1.564 VOUCHER tokens today which are worth $35. This could make staking SPS a very profitable endeavor. Those 6157 SPS I have staked were worth about $5000 yesterday and if they spin off $35/day worth of VOUCHERs, that would be a monthly return of 21%! Obviously, I don't expect VOUCHERs to stay priced this high for the whole month, but...
if prices stay anywhere above 10 Hive per VOUCHER over the next month, I'll likely be selling my entire airdrop and use the proceeds to buy more packs (or specific cards) after the pre-sale is over.
