Hello, everyone. KonAqua-desu! This is my 4th attempt on joining Splinterland's Social Media Challenge, where, as the title suggests, share your experiences and insights in your Splinterlands journey.
Since I have a few power now, I will be using that to unpack Chaos Legion Packs or buy a useful card for battle once or twice a month (They're limited so buy them now). This post is to showcase what I get from those packs. Enjoy!
Introduction
Chaos Legion is the latest installment on Splinterlands. Each packs contains 5 cards each having a chance to obtain a Legendary Gold Foil which should get back your investments. Each pack costs $4 for a limited time only. Let's see what I got this time.
These are the 5 cards I got for this pack:
- Cruel Sethropod - Water - Common
- Disintegrator - Neutral - Common
- Djinn Apprentice - Fire - Rare

- Lava Spider - Fire Common
Monster Stats and Skills
Cruel Sethropod
Lore:
Few explorers dare to go deep within the volcanoes of the world. Tales are told of great spiders that weave threads of fire and trap their enemies in webs of flame. An inescapable and painful death.
When the Chaos Legion entered the Splinterlands through the great volcano in the center of Praetoria, they saw the lava spiders and used them to their advantage. Transporting these spiders into areas that need defense is a win-win for both groups. For the Chaos Legion, it is an easy barrier to ward off unwanted visitors. And for the lava spiders, they get free meals from the curious, the foolish, and the unwary adventurers that seek to strike at the Chaos Legion.
The dwarven warrior crept his way towards a long stretch of stone corridor. It had taken him months to find this secret entrance within the dense jungle. A hideout for supporters of the Chaos Legion. He intended to destroy them all and make safe the area once again.
He made his way silently into the corridor, gripping his dagger tightly. But as he trekked further into the darkness, he felt the heat increase. A heavy frown crossed his features. That wasn't right. Why was it getting so hot?
He turned a corner and stifled an alarmed cry. Crisscrossing the corridor were strands of spiderwebs that glowed red hot. He brought his dagger up, but it was too late. A searing pain stabbed into his back.
He was unconscious by the time the burning web was wrapped around him.
Abilities:
None
Quick Notes:
Good for low mana fights due to his decent health and mana.
Disintegrator
Lore:
The crazed tinker, Morloth, created the Disintegrator within his lair in the Badlands. Assembling various parts of other creatures together, he spent an age designing and building his masterpiece. The only problem was bringing it to life. He tried taking the fierce lightning from the sky and filling the monstrous body with raw energy but that didn’t work and only damaged its limbs. He experimented with molten power from within the ground but that only burnt away its flesh and hide. It wasn’t until he had a visit from a cloaked agent of chaos and was gifted the answer to his problems that the engine burst into life.
The pair spoke for days and deals were made, adjusted, broken and presented again. Morloth grew frustrated with how long it was taking, all he wanted was to have more of the sickly, green crystals that the agent had placed within the heart of his creature, bringing it to life. Whether he eventually tired of the bartering and was worn down, or the taint of chaos itself had afflicted him, Morloth agreed to the terms laid out by his visitor. With a large sack of the chaos fuel and the promise of an endless supply in the future, all he had to do was keep his side of the bargain – persecute and destroy the people of Praetoria. He quickly produced more of the misshapen beasts and now, with his pets in tow, he terrorised Praetoria and all its inhabitants.
With the torso of a mountain gorilla, the hind quarters of a crocodile and the mouth of a leach, the Disintegrator is a mismatch of devastating qualities. Its strength is formidable, twisted strands of metal combined with great sinews of muscle. When the heavy forearms and tail strike its foe, it will pummel them into submission without mercy. If that fails to work then the monster’s evil jaws will latch onto its prey, numerous splayed fangs locking onto their body as it sucks the life from them. The obscene golem strikes terror into its foes wherever it goes and it has been known to continue to fight even after the yellow glow of life has left it eyes.
The mountain village of Squall’s End was quiet as night fell. Nestled in the foothills of two peaks, it guarded the pass and was a refuge for the many travellers that came through that way bringing trade inland from Northern Bay. Lights from the houses twinkled in the darkness, and thin strands of smoke spiralled into the night sky from fires burning within the many hearths. The call of a young shepherd broke the silence, herding his small flock of sheep back into their pen where they’d be safe from wild animals. It was a picture of perfect serenity, of a happy community at peace with the world. It was the perfect place for Morloth to release his new creation and test how effective it truly was.
The beast grumbled beside him, the heart of its engine humming gently, chugging puffs of green smoke from an exhaust cylinder. Morloth reached across and turned the dial up, causing the engine to bark and the beast to shudder, its eyes glowing with intense, unprocessed energy.
“There is the town, my child. That is why we have come here. Destroy them! Stampede through their homes, and drink their blood until your appetite is sated, my beautiful Disintegrator.”
The monster turned to look at him for a moment and then it was gone. Charging towards the village and bellowing its rage until the angry roars echoed back from the very mountains themselves.
Abilities:
At Level 1, Demoralize provides -1 melee to enemies as long as Disintegrator is alive.
At Level 5, Trample provides an additional attack if the targetted enemy died during that attack.
At Level 8, Knock Out deals double damage if the enemy is stunned. Really good but hard to pull off.
At Level 10, Retaliate has a chance to do a counter attack if the attacker is melee. Works well with Trample.
Quick Notes:
It is a good support for 99 mana battles. The 7 mana hinders you on choosing it due to better options.
Djinn Apprentice
Lore:
Djinn Apprentices prefer to study under more powerful djinn to hone their magic. While not as strong or cunning as others of their kin, they are just as dangerous to untrained warriors.
When the Chaos Legion arrived, it had a diverse effect on the djinn. Not a unified race by any means, some chose to align with the Chaos Legion, some chose to defend against it, and others chose to go their own path and leave it all behind. Djinn Apprentices chose to align themselves with Djinn Inferni, believing in his mission and his vision.
The Djinn Apprentices kneeled before the powerful form of Djinn Inferni. The heat of the volcano was immense, but it did not affect these beings of fire and magic.
Djinn Inferni looked across the row. “Djinn Muriat has betrayed our kind. He has aligned himself with the foul Chaos Legion. He has corrupted the name 'djinn' and all it stands for. We will no longer sit in silence as his darkness spreads. It will take all of us to face him. Will you join me?”
“We will!” the Djinn Apprentices exclaimed as one.
Abilities:
At Level 6, Djinn Apprentice unlocks Deathblow ability which does 2x damage if his target is the only Monster left on the enemy team.
Quick Notes:
Decent damage. Deathblow is really good against Last Stand abilities.
Hardy Stonefish
Lore:
To the untrained eye a Hardy Stonefish is nearly invisible when at rest on the ocean floor. This solitary creature is at home in deep water or in shallow pools. Their thick rough scales make the stonefish indistinguishable from chunks of coral or a large boulder but when they attack, very few survive. They can grow up to six feet in length and are wide and strong. Hardy Stonefish attack by slamming their rock-like skulls into their opponent, dealing crushing damage. Anyone who tries to battle this dread aquatic beast will find themselves surprised by the toughness of their scales, making their armor difficult to penetrate.
Sarl Mudfoot had been hunting the Irontail and Stonefin, prized for their scales, for months, but when he came upon the silt trail of a Hardy Stonefish he couldn't believe his luck. He dropped another air cartridge into his rebreather, bated his trap with a piece of quartz the size of his fist and perched himself on a boulder nearby. It was all over in a flash. Later that day his gear could be seen floating near the water's edge, his boat abandoned.
Abilities:
None
Quick Notes:
One of the best 1 mana cost level 1 due to extra armor.
Lava Spider
He was unconscious by the time the burning web was wrapped around him.
Abilities:
Lava Spider has an innate ability at Level 1. Snipe prioritizes targets that are non-melee and not in first position.
At Level 6, unlocks Snare ability which removes flying ability if hit.
At Level 10, unlocks Poison ability. Poison has a chance of inflicting poison debuff allowing continuous damage of 2 per round.
Quick Notes:
The abilities are not really the best because of his low damage but Lava Spider has high health for a low mana cost range unit.
Author's Notes
I will be unpacking probably once a month since I need to get potions first for higher chance of rarity. Once I get to Bronze 1, this unpacking would also be a giveaway. The faster I get to Bronze 1, the faster I can provide giveaways because I don't need to save that much for collection power.
