Hoy Primero de Mayo, dial del trabajador, feliz día a cada uno de todas esas mujeres y todos esos hombres que cada día, con su tiempo, esfuerzo y trabajo lucha de sol a sol para trabajar por lo que quieren y para poder tener una retribución que compense ese día de trabajo para poder lograr y tener él o ella y toda su familia una mejor calidad de vida, porque al final eso es lo que cada uno de nosotros siempre estamos buscando una mejor calidad de vida, justo con el trabajo arduo que cada uno de nosotros realizamos, contribuimos con eso, tener una mejor vida.

Hoy Primero de Mayo, por primera vez celebro el día del trabador como un hombre jubilado porque recién el 15 de abril recibí la información que después de 27 años de servicio ininterrumpidos trabajando de sol a sol en mi amada universidad, en un consejo universitario aprobaron mi jubilación, me siento feliz porque sé que he contribuido durante 27 años en la formación de miles de profesionales que hoy día también están celebrando su día, porque gracias a la educación que pudieron recibir en la universidad, hoy por hoy son hombres y mujeres que trabajan para ellos mismos y para todos los demás, aportando su grano de arena o aportando esa pieza del engranaje en un sistema de trabajo donde están dando el todo para trabajar por el bien de ellos y de su propia familia.

Hoy celebro este día y hago mi extensiva felicitación a cada uno de esos trabajadores venezolanos que hoy están realizando sus labores, les envió toda mi solidaridad en estos tiempos duros que estamos viviendo en Venezuela, sobre todo para aquellos donde me incluyo con un salario indigno que está por debajo de 20 dólares mensuales, lamentablemente ese sueldo que hoy se recibe en una gran mayoría de venezolanos hace muchos vivan en la miseria, y en su defecto tenga que tener más de un trabajo para poder solventar algunas necesidades básicas, y lo digo con toda propiedad y con conocimiento de la causa, ya que soy uno de esos trabajadores que lucha cada día para poder llevar el pan a la mesa de mi hogar.

Lo que más deseo es que el día de hoy y todos los días también, pero especialmente hoy, cada uno de ustedes encuentre la mejor satisfacción en sus labores, que el esfuerzo que realizan sea reconocido que puedan alcanzar sus metas para que sea motivo de celebración, pero que esa celebración por sus logros, puedas llenar de sonrisas y gratitud por todo lo que aportan a nuestro país, no desfallezcan por las piedras que nos coloca el grupito que gobierna el país, pronto saldrán de esos cargos y tendremos una mejor Venezuela con salarios dignos para todos los trabajadores.

Happy Workers' Day to all!

On this First of May, Workers' Day, happy day to each and every one of all those women and all those men who every day, with their time, effort, and work, fight from dawn to dusk to work for what they want and to be able to have a compensation that compensates for that day of work in order to achieve and have him or her and their entire family a better quality of life, because ultimately that is what each of us is always seeking, a better quality of life, right along with the hard work that each of us carries out, we contribute to that, to have a better life.

Today, on the first of May, for the first time I celebrate Workers' Day as a retired man because, I recently received the information that after 27 years of uninterrupted service working from sunup to sundown at my beloved university, in a university council they approved my retirement. I am happy because I know that I have contributed during 27 years in the education of thousands of professionals who are also celebrating their day today because thanks to the education they were able to receive at the university, today they are men and women who work for themselves and for everyone else, contributing their grain of sand or providing that piece of the puzzle in a work system where they are giving their all to work for the good of themselves and their own family.

Today I celebrate this day and extend my congratulations to each of those Venezuelan workers who are carrying out their work today. I send you all my solidarity in these difficult times we are living in Venezuela, especially for those where I include myself with a salary that is below 20 dollars per month. Unfortunately, that salary that is received today by a large majority of Venezuelans causes many to live in poverty, and as a result, they have to have more than one job to be able to meet some basic needs. I say this with all authority and from firsthand knowledge, since I am one of those workers who struggle every day to bring bread home.

What I desire most is that today and every day, but especially today, each of you finds the greatest satisfaction in your work, that the effort you put in is recognized, that you can achieve your goals so that it is a reason to celebrate, but that celebration for your achievements can be filled with smiles and gratitude for all that you contribute to our country. Do not falter in the face of the obstacles set by the small group that governs the country, soon they will be removed from those positions, and we will have a better Venezuela with dignified salaries for all workers.
