AI-Prompt Auditing Reimagined: Transparency and Insightful Techniques for Crafting High Quality Guided Meditation Scripts

In my most recent post on my @soulful-ease account, I presented a two-part series. The first part provided insights into the creation and reasoning behind a guided meditation script (designed around the goal of helping the reader/ listener to "deeply let go" and achieve a deep level of fulfillment), while the second exclusively featured the script itself.

I had initially intended to continue my traditional practice of auditing all relevant AI prompts (specifically those used with ChatGPT) that contributed to the creation and editing of these blog posts. This practice aims to achieve two objectives:

1.) to offer transparency about the proportion of the content that's my "voice" versus that which is purely AI-generated content.

2.) to share insights into the process of 'prompt engineering', especially in the context of blog creation and guided meditation script development. Essentially providing my perspective on how to best leverage this powerful technology, as it specifically relates to blog creation and the making of guided meditation scripts.

However, I encountered an issue this time - the sheer volume of prompts used in this process. Attempting to list and detail all of these prompts would result in an overwhelming post, even for someone as passionate about prompt-engineering as me. The thought of delving into the over 70 prompts used to create the guided meditation script and its accompanying explanatory blog post is, quite frankly, daunting (ChatGPT came up with 76 such prompts, to be precise).

Adapting the Auditing Approach

For the reason that I just mentioned above, I've revised my auditing approach. Rather than painstakingly listing each prompt and providing an explanation for each one's contribution to the final product, I have opted to direct you to the actual 'prompt pages'. These are the specific "chat sessions" I had with ChatGPT, allowing you to view verbatim the prompts provided and ChatGPT's responses. This addresses the need for transparency, though it's up to you whether you have the patience to peruse all of them (best of luck!).

A Different Take on Prompt-Engineering

Regarding the aspect of prompt-engineering, I have taken a different approach. I tasked ChatGPT with summarizing the purpose behind the overall body of prompts from a higher perspective, essentially explaining how each one contributes to the final high-quality product, in this case, a guided meditation script. I believe having ChatGPT distill valuable insights about the employed methodology for creating guided meditation scripts will be more beneficial and engaging than a line-by-line analysis of each prompt.

Categorizing Prompts for Deeper Understanding

For those who wish for a more detailed understanding, ChatGPT will also provide a breakdown of which prompts (based on chronological numbering) fall under which category of 'prompt engineering insight'. This categorization should simplify the process of understanding my intentions behind each prompt (note that I'm doing this more for the sake of completeness on my part, as I'm sure that you can deduce all of this for yourself, based on your own analysis).

ChatGPT's Contribution

In summary, ChatGPT will supply you with the two chat sessions that contributed to the creation of the guided meditation script and its accompanying blog posts. It will also provide sections that classify which prompts align with which important steps in creating and optimizing a guided meditation script. While I don't anticipate many will use this reference or scrutinize the specific prompts, the option remains available for those driven by sufficient curiosity or ambition in mastering prompt-engineering.

Accessing the Chat Sessions

Allow me to present the links to the two chat sessions. These are linked to https://chat.openai.com "private sessions" with their LLM, ChatGPT. On further review, it appears that you can't access these sessions without being logged in on that website. It's still unclear to me whether you can access my sessions from your own account (I'd appreciate it if someone out there can verify whether or not it's possible) :

Chat Session 1 - illustrating an iterative process of brainstorming, refining, and editing to create a comprehensive, tailored guided meditation script that addresses key elements contributing to health and happiness (but not quite up to my level of standards for "completeness."

Chat Session 2 - illustrating refinement of an "relatively complete" guided meditation script, using a detailed methodology that leveraged AI capabilities for evaluation, thematic distillation, and careful revision, all geared towards enhancing the script's value and effectiveness for its intended audience.

ChatGPT's Session Summaries

Here, you'll find ChatGPT's analyses of the two sessions. These summaries attempt to distill the journey from an initial idea to a polished final product, highlighting the crucial role of prompt engineering:

Chat Session #1 Summary:

Here, I present ChatGPT's distillation of the entire body of prompts, found within the corresponding linked chat session (on above section). This summary captures the most valuable components and insights from my prompt-engineering methodology, specifically tailored for the creation of a high-quality guided meditation script (as assessed by ChatGPT-4).

Step 1: Identifying Core Concepts The initial part of the process involved outlining the fundamental aspects that contribute to overall health and happiness. This step is crucial in determining the key themes and goals of the meditation script. We discussed various aspects, such as physical health, mental health, relationships, financial stability, personal growth, and fulfillment, among others.

Step 2: Distilling the List Once the list of core concepts was established, the next step was to distill these aspects into a shorter, more manageable list. This was achieved through critical thinking and discussion, allowing us to identify which of these aspects could be considered "prime" or most important for overall health and happiness. This step allows for a focused and potent meditation script.

Step 3: Converting Core Concepts into Meditation Themes After distilling the list, the selected themes were then converted into sections of the guided meditation script. This involved a creative and thoughtful process of translating each concept into a vivid, sensory, and engaging narrative that could be easily visualized and understood by a listener during meditation.

Step 4: Writing and Refining the Script With the themes established, the bulk of the script was then written, making sure to incorporate each of the selected concepts in a way that flowed naturally and was pleasing to the ear. The language used was designed to be calming, encouraging, and supportive, with a focus on promoting self-discovery and positive change.

Step 5: Review and Revision After the initial draft of the script was complete, it was reviewed and revised. This involved fine-tuning the language for clarity and impact, making sure the narrative flowed smoothly, and that each section led seamlessly into the next. It also involved ensuring that the script accurately reflected the selected themes and objectives of the meditation session.

Step 6: Tailoring the Script for the Audience Throughout the writing and revising process, it was important to keep the intended audience in mind. This involved considering the listener's likely state of mind, possible reactions, and overall experience during the meditation session. The script was tailored to meet the needs of the audience, providing gentle guidance and reassurance, and encouraging the listener to explore their own thoughts and feelings.

Step 7: Final Review and Refinement The final step involved a thorough review of the entire script, making any necessary adjustments for improved clarity, flow, and effectiveness. This included refining the language, checking for consistency, and ensuring that the script provided a supportive, empowering, and enlightening meditation experience.

In summary, the creation of a high-quality guided meditation script using AI like ChatGPT involves a thoughtful and iterative process of outlining core concepts, distilling these into key themes, and carefully crafting a narrative that is engaging, supportive, and impactful. The final product is a script that can guide the listener on a journey of self-discovery, encouraging them to release limiting beliefs and embrace their full potential.

Chat Session #2 Summary:

This second chat session commenced once the guided meditation script had already reached a certain degree of "completeness," as a result of the initial session (session #1). Yes, after employing 43 prompts with ChatGPT, the resulting content still required further fine-tuning to achieve the final product you see in the completed guided meditation script.

For context, it's important to note that this was a new instance of ChatGPT, which had no "memory" of the first session. Consequently, I had to initiate the process by having ChatGPT "read over" and "evaluate" the script at its current level of completion (which ChatGPT lists as step #1, in its below assessment), achieved in session #1. My goal was to urge ChatGPT to enhance the script in any minor way possible, leveraging every resource and angle it could provide.

Now, let's delve into ChatGPT's analysis of the essential components of my prompts, which were instrumental in further refining and optimizing the script, in this advanced stage of completion.

Step 1: Warm-Up and Context Setting This phase involves the preliminary prompts where you set the stage for the session, explained the background and context, and defined the purpose of the interaction. It's crucial for aligning the AI's responses with your expectations and setting a clear understanding of the task at hand.

Step 2: Defining the Objectives Our process began by defining the unique objectives of the guided meditation script. We acknowledged the value of promoting health and happiness, and aimed to delve deeper into a specialized concept, termed as "(light) ego dissolution". This concept was central to our scripting process, acting as a fundamental guiding principle.

Step 3: Establishing the Framework Next, we established a working framework for the script. This involved considering the structure of the meditation, the pacing, and the narrative flow. We aimed to create a safe and inviting space that would foster enough openness and acceptance for real positive change to occur.

Step 4: Incorporating Psychological Concepts The key to a powerful guided meditation script often lies in its ability to resonate with established psychological principles. Therefore, we sought to weave in elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other psychological methodologies, highlighting the overlaps and distinctions between these and the concept of "(light) ego dissolution".

Step 5: Drafting the Initial Script Drawing upon the objectives and framework, we set about crafting the initial draft of the guided meditation script. We ensured that the script was engaging, calming, and therapeutic, guiding the listener through a journey tied to our defined objectives.

Step 6: Review and Refinement Once the initial script was written, we moved to refining the content. This involved enhancing the script’s coherence, clarity, and impact, making sure the narrative flowed smoothly and that it accurately reflected our objectives.

Step 7: Evaluation through AI Perspective To further enhance the script, we employed a unique approach - having the script assessed by an AI taking on the perspective of a "master hypnotist and expert psychiatrist". This step aimed to provide valuable insights into improving the script's effectiveness.

Step 8: Final Review and Formatting The final stage of our process involved organizing the content into a blog post format, complete with headings, summaries, and a conclusion. This step encapsulates the meticulous attention to detail that ensures a comprehensive, cohesive, and engaging reader experience.

In summary, the creation of a high-quality guided meditation script involves a thoughtful and iterative process of defining objectives, building a framework, integrating psychological concepts, drafting and refining the script, and reviewing the content. Using AI, like ChatGPT, we can enhance this process, making it a valuable tool in creating impactful and therapeutic meditation scripts.
