Everyone was out today trying to catch a glimpse of the solar eclipse that came upon NYC today at about 2:44 in the afternoon.
The streets in mid Town manhattan were filled with people. You needed special glasses to actually see the event. The actual damage without using the eyeglasses to cover your eyes could be severe.
Anyway, I attempted to photograph it but I did not have any specilaist filters or sunglasses. Someone did however lend me some and I got to view it.

Aiming towards the sky I was able to view the eclipse without directly but rather, through the lens of my phone.
Another shot at it. Still could not get the actual eclipse. Needed a filter.
So interesting how the sky did not get dark. It was still bright. One would have not noticed there was an eclipse by the light outside.
