Thirsty for some funky Singaporean tea?

I’ve been cutting down the amount of coffee and opting for tea in the past few months.
I had been a regular coffee drinker but having less coffee hasn’t been an issue and it’s rather fun to be introduced into the world of tea.

Since then, I’ve been looking for nice teas, and this time I found an unique tea shop in Singapore.
The brand/shop is called ETTE TEA and their shop is located in Chinatown. They sell their original tea blends that are inspired by Singaporean culture.

What’s distictive about ETTE TEA is their very playful execution.
Their lineup include things like Bak Kwa (beef jerky) and Chicken Rice.
Quite funny, right?
These tea don’t (thankfully) contain actual beef, chicken, or rice, but when you smell them they surprisingly resemble those dishes. We tried Bak Kwa in the shop, but it tasted smoky and was very different from any tea I have had before.

When I went to the shop, the founder of the brand Victor was in the shop and he was very helpful about tea recommendations and shared the stories behind this brand. He even brewed some tea for me and my partner to sample.

They are a relatively young brand that started about three years ago and the physical shop has only started a year ago. Since they don’t sell outside of Singapore (yet), and with their Singaporean nature, they’d make a perfect Singaporean souvenir.

We bought these two packs, Chicken Rice and Fortune Cookie Chai, and I can’t wait to try them ;)
