That's it! I almost finished my 20k training after 12 weeks! I won't tell the story of this training in this post, I will do that after the race which takes place on Sunday.
I know that during the last week it's useless to push too hard. Everything is done and risking an injury is not really smart.
First run: interval training
Even if we don't have to push too hard, I did an interval training at the beginning of the week. It's been a while since my last interval training (almost 4 weeks) but everything was fine. Here is what I did:
- 20' of warm-up
- 3x7' at a 4'/km pace with 2' of rest
- 10' of cool down
It was great to do that again!
Second run: slow endurance run
For my second run I just did an endurance run at a slow pace. The program said at 5'19"/km but I was a bit faster with 5'04"/km. The important is that my heart rate stayed below 145. I also did 3 accelerations at the end.
My week is of course not over. Tomorrow I will do a short and slow run because otherwise it will be 3 days without any run before the race. And Sunday is the big day!
