Oreo Balls/Truffles

Do you know someone who loves chocolate and loves Oreos? If so, these chocolate Oreo truffles/balls are perfect. And they are extremely easy to make.

You can use your favorite Oreos for the middle and your favorite chocolate for the outside. Then there are all kinds of different toppings you can put on top.

Ingredients
8 oz softened cream cheese 225g
36 to 42 Oreos classic, Golden, mint, etc. (395 to 475g)
2 cups chocolate CandiQuick, Candy melts/wafers, chocolate chips, chocolate bars, etc. (approx 340g, doesn’t have to be exact, start with 1 cup and melt more if needed)
Toppings: chopped nuts, sprinkles, coconut, drizzle chocolate, etc.

Instructions
Place the softened cream cheese in a large bowl and blend it until smooth with a hand mixer or you can use a wooden spoon as well.

Add 35 to 42 Oreos to a food processor. Blend the Oreos until you are left with nice crumbs.

Add the Oreo crumbs about a third at a time to the large bowl with the cream cheese filling. Blend until incorporated. You may want to reserve a tablespoon or two of the crumbs to use as a topping later.

If you don't have a hand mixer, just use a wooden spoon to mix them together.

Use clean hands or food-grade gloves and roll a little over a tablespoon worth into a ball and place it onto a sheet pan lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

Once rolled, place the pan in the fridge for a few hours, or in the freezer for 30 to 45 minutes so they can firm up.

Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in microwave for 30 seconds, then stir, and repeat until completely melted or use the double boiler method on the stovetop.

Now dip the balls in the chocolate. You can use a handy dipping tool, spoon, or fork. Make sure to tap it a few times to allow the excess to drain back into the bowl. Place the dipped ball back onto the sheet pan lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

After dipping them, add toppings like Oreo crumbs, chopped nuts, coconut flakes, sprinkles, etc. You can place melted chocolate in a sandwich bag, cut the corner off, and drizzle chocolate on top as well.
A
fter dipping and putting on toppings, place them in the fridge for 15 minutes or so to set completely. Chances are if you used candy melts or CandiQuik, by the time you are done dipping the last ones, the first ones will already be set. Enjoy!
