Kidney wound can give heart diseases

Washington, Agency. Infections in the kidney after surgery can cause heart diseases in the future. This warning has been issued in recent research. According to researchers, any kind of malady in the functioning of the kidney i.e. acute kidney injury (AKI) can cause serious condition for the patient. During surgery, kidney problems can not be found sufficiently due to the problem of AKI.

Researchers at the National Taiwan University Hospital examined the relationship between AK and heart-related diseases. Principal researcher Win St. Woo and his colleagues studied dialysis patients for AK treatment in the hospital. Data collected from Taiwan National Health Insurance between 1999 and 2008 for research.
In patients diagnosed with AKI, there is a possibility of further developing heart diseases. It can also cause the risk of diabetes. This research will soon be published in the Journal of the American Society of Neurology (JASN).
