The Tibia is one of the strongest long bones located below the knee in the antero-internal portion of the leg and receives the body weight from the femur bone and even the talus bone in the foot.

When a person receives a blow at the level of the leg (in this case the Tibia) the Sharp Edge or Anterior Crest is responsible for dispersing the impact to avoid a fracture. However, there are times when the magnitude of the blow is so high that a fracture inevitably occurs.

In the case of this patient, when receiving a strong impact by a motorcycle we can observe in the marked parts of the radiography the severity of the fracture. With a bone loss like that, it will probably have to be taken to the operating room to have a prosthesis that allows it to keep extremities but, in the worst case, the most drastic options depending on the state of the muscles, veins, tendons, fascias and demases, can resort to amputation too extreme, right? Nobody wants that.
