Scouts teach love for the homeland, discipline, determination, leadership, and solidarity.
The scouting movement was born during the colonial period, long before independence came, namely in 1923 it had not been inaugurated, but continued to grow until 1961 this movement became the official formation journey after Indonesia's independence on August 17, 1945.
that's a bit of a brief story of the scout's journey from the past until now. but today I want to focus on an impressive activity, namely when I went on a scouting trip with elementary school students in 2022 at the beginning of last January, in the lamlo forest, aceh pidie province, Indonesia.
I was with them, walking in this forest. we walked along the road in the middle of the lamlo forest. forest not too far from residential areas. but I dare not take them to the middle of the forest which is far from the reach of the residents' settlements. because the forest here is known to be quite extensive. so I and those who are still children just take a walk around the forest which is not far from the residential area.
That's my job as a coach. it was a big motivation for me. even when I climb the peak I also enjoy it. but here I am with those who are still underage. they are still very unstable. I only carry out my duties as a Scoutmaster to make this activity a success with intention and sincerity. the goal is only to form social values and leadership spirit for those who have just joined this scouting activity. on the other hand, this forest is still new to me, because I have never been here. This is my first time traveling to this forest. of course as a scout coach for the school.
