Actions speak louder than words. This we already knew; this is just another way os stating that truth. Another truth is that talk is cheap: People talk so much so often that after a while it's just background noise to us.

Relentlessly, people in power keep talking about things they are doing. This is to distract us from what they really do when we aren't watching them. This became obvious to more people than ever in the years since 2020. Some people knew this, but that was when even people who don't pay attention to such matters took notice. So now we know to pay attention to what people actually do, not simply what they say they do.

Ralph Waldo Emerson was born in Boston, Massachusetts, US on 1803-May-25, 1803. He died in Concord, Massachusetts, US on 1882-April-27.

Ralph Waldo Emerson was an essayist, lecturer, and poet. He was also known as the leading proponent of New England Transcendentalism, the belief system in which

the essential unity of all creation, the innate goodness of humanity, and the supremacy of insight over logic and experience for the revelation of the deepest truths.

Before he turned 8 in 1811, Emerson's father died. As a result, his intellectual development shifted to his aunt, Mary Moody Emerson. A year later in 1812, the young Emerson was enrolled at the Boston Public Latin School. It was there that he began to develop his literary and intellectual gifts.

In 1817 Emerson entered Harvard College (later renamed Harvard University). There he began keeping journals. In 1821 he graduated from Harvard College and was a teacher there. At the same time, he was preparing for part-time study at Harvard Divinity School.
