alternatetext

The Ice Pirates (1984) is a science fiction comedy film directed by Stewart Raffill and starring Robert Urich, Mary Crosby, RON Perlman, Anjelica Huston, and John Matuszak. It is set in a distant future where water is the most valuable commodity in the galaxy.

The film follows a group of ice pirates, led by Captain Jason (Robert Urich), who raid spaceships for their cargo. One day, The Ice Pirates raid a Templar ship and discover Princess Karina (Mary Crosby) in a stasis pod. Karina is the daughter of the Templar king, and she is on a mission to find her father, who has disappeared.

Jason and the ice pirates agree to help Karina find her father. They travel to the planet Mithra, where the Templars are headquartered. Along the way, they are pursued by the Templar fleet.

On Mithra, Jason and the ice pirates learn that the Templar king has been captured by a group of rebels. The rebels are led by Maida (Anjelica Huston), who is Jason's ex-girlfriend.

Jason and the ice pirates team up with the rebels to rescue the Templar king and defeat the Templars. In the end, Jason and Karina fall in love, and they live happily ever after.

The Ice Pirates is a fun and campy science fiction comedy film. It features over-the-top action sequences, cheesy dialogue, and rubber monster suits.

While The Ice Pirates was not a critical or commercial success upon its release, it has since developed a cult following among fans of science fiction comedy films. The film is praised for its sense of humor, its unique visuals, and its memorable characters.
