The Equalizer 2 is a 2018 American vigilante action film directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by Richard Wenk. It is the sequel to the 2014 film The Equalizer, which was based on the television series of the same name. The film stars Denzel Washington as Robert McCall, a retired CIA operative who now works as a Lyft driver and moonlights as a vigilante.
In the sequel, McCall is drawn back into his old life when his longtime friend and former colleague, Susan Plummer (Melissa Leo), is murdered. McCall sets out on a quest for revenge, and he must use all of his skills to track down and bring her killers to justice.
Along the way, McCall befriends a young man named Miles Whittaker (Ashton Sanders), who is being targeted by the same people who killed Plummer. McCall takes Miles under his wing and teaches him how to survive in a dangerous world.
