Shot Caller is a 2017 American crime thriller film written and directed by Ric Roman Waugh. The film stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as a successful businessman who is sentenced to prison for a DUI accident that kills his best friend. While in prison, he is forced to join a white supremacist gang to survive. The film also stars Omari Hardwick, Lake Bell, Jon Bernthal, Emory Cohen, Jeffrey Donovan, Evan Jones, Benjamin Bratt, and Holt McCallany.

Jacob Harlon (Coster-Waldau) is a successful stockbroker living with his wife, Katherine, and son, Joshua, in California. One night, he drives his wife and friends home under the influence of alcohol and causes a collision which kills one of his friends. On the advice of his lawyer, Jacob takes a plea deal and is sentenced to 16 months in prison.

While in prison, Jacob is quickly targeted by the Aryan Brotherhood, a white supremacist gang. He is forced to join the gang in order to survive. Within the gang, Jacob is given the nickname "Money" and is tasked with handling the gang's finances.

Jacob quickly rises through the ranks of the Aryan Brotherhood and becomes one of the gang's most trusted members. However, he also begins to question his involvement in the gang and the choices he has made in his life.

When Jacob is released from prison, he finds that he is unable to return to his old life. He is haunted by his past and is still struggling with his identity. Jacob must now decide what kind of life he wants to live and how he wants to make amends for the mistakes he has made.
