alternatetext

National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1 is a 1993 American parody of action film, particularly the Lethal Weapon series. It stars Emilio Estevez as Jack Colt and Samuel L. Jackson as Wes Luger, two mismatched police detectives who are investigating the murder of a fellow officer. The film also stars Kathy Ireland, Tim Curry, William Shatner, and Jon Lovitz.

Plot

Los Angeles Police Department Sergeant Billy York (Whoopi Goldberg) is murdered by a man known as Mr. Jigsaw (Tim Curry) because she possesses a microfilm that contains the formula for turning cocaine into cookies. York's former partner, Wes Luger (Samuel L. Jackson), is assigned the case, but he is reluctant to take it on because he is about to retire. Luger is eventually partnered with Jack Colt (Emilio Estevez), a burned-out cop who recently lost his dog.

Colt and Luger investigate York's murder and eventually uncover a plot by a Vietnam War veteran named General Curtis Mortars (William Shatner) to distribute cocaine-laced cookies to children. Mortars is also working with a seductive businesswoman named Destiny Demeanor (Kathy Ireland), who is the head of the Wilderness Girls Cookie Factory.

Colt and Luger race against time to stop Mortars from carrying out his plan. They face a number of obstacles along the way, including Jigsaw, who is trying to kill them, and Demeanor, who is trying to seduce Colt. In the end, Colt and Luger are able to defeat Mortars and save the children from the cocaine-laced cookies.

National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1 is a fast-paced and action-packed film with a lot of humor. It is a parody of many popular action films of the time, including Lethal Weapon, Dirty Harry, Die Hard, and Basic Instinct. The film is also a social commentary on the dangers of drug abuse and the corruption of big business.
