alternatetext

Hudson Hawk is a 1991 American action comedy film directed by Michael Lehmann and starring Bruce Willis, Danny Aiello, Andie MacDowell, Sandra Bernhard, and Richard E. Grant. The film follows a cat burglar who is blackmailed into stealing three priceless Leonardo da Vinci artifacts in order to power a machine that turns lead into gold.

Eddie Hawkins (Willis), nicknamed "Hudson Hawk," is a skilled cat burglar who is released from prison after serving a ten-year sentence. He is immediately blackmailed by a wealthy couple, Minerva and Darwin Mayflower (Bernhard and Grant), into stealing three priceless Leonardo da Vinci artifacts: a maquette of the Sforza, the Da Vinci Codex, and a scale model of da Vinci's helicopter. The Mayflowers plan to use the artifacts to power a machine that turns lead into gold.

Hawk is reluctant to help the Mayflowers, but he is forced to agree after they kidnap his friend and partner, Tommy Five-Tone (Aiello). Hawk teams up with his girlfriend, Anna Baragli (MacDowell), a nun who is working undercover for the Vatican, to steal the artifacts and stop the Mayflowers from carrying out their plan.

Hudson Hawk is a fast-paced and action-packed film with a lot of humor. It is also a visually stunning film, with some beautiful cinematography. It was a commercial failure when it was released, but it has since become a cult classic.
