alternatetext

The film Henry Poole Is Here is about a dying man named Henry Poole (Luke Wilson) who moves into a rundown house in a Los Angeles suburb to spend his remaining days alone. His plan is disrupted when his neighbor, Esperanza Martinez (Adriana Barraza), sees a stain on Henry's stucco wall that she believes is the face of Jesus Christ.

Esperanza begins to lead pilgrimages to Henry's house, and soon the media and curious onlookers arrive. Henry is initially annoyed by the attention, but he begins to soften when he sees how the stain has brought people together and given them hope.

Henry also develops a friendship with Esperanza and her mute daughter, Millie. Through them, he learns to appreciate the simple things in life and to find joy in the company of others.

Henry Poole Is Here is a heartwarming and thought-provoking film about faith, community, and the power of human connection. It is a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope.

The film was directed by Mark Pellington and written by Albert Torres. It also stars Radha Mitchell, George Lopez, and Morgan Lilly.
