Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is a 2011 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Ghost Rider. It is the sequel to the 2007 film Ghost Rider, and stars Nicolas Cage reprising his role as Johnny Blaze. The film also stars Ciarán Hinds, Idris Elba, Fergus Riordan, Violante Placido, Johnny Whitworth, and Christopher Lambert.

In the film, Johnny Blaze has been hiding out in Europe since the events of the first film, trying to suppress the Ghost Rider curse. However, he is approached by a secret sect of the church, who ask him to protect a young boy named Danny Ketch from the Devil. Danny is the son of Roarke, the Devil's human vessel, and the Devil is trying to claim Danny for himself.

Johnny is reluctant to accept the mission, but he eventually agrees. He and Danny go on the run, pursued by the Devil and his minions. Along the way, Johnny must learn to control the Ghost Rider curse and use it to protect Danny.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is a dark and action-packed film with some stunning visuals. Cage gives a charismatic performance as Johnny Blaze, and Elba is also impressive as Moreau. The film has been praised for its action sequences and its special effects.

  • Ionut Cristian Lefter as Young Johnny Blaze. Matt Long, who portrayed the character in the first film was originally set to reprise the role, but was eventually replaced by Lefter.
  • Johnny Whitworth as Ray Carrigan / Blackout: A mercenary, drug dealer, and gun runner turned into Blackout by the demon lord to complete his job. This transformation gives him the fortitude and supernatural abilities to compete with Ghost Rider. Carrigan's powers are completely unlike those of the comic book character; writers admitted that the only aspect of Blackout they used in designing the movie version was his appearance.
  • Fergus Riordan as Danny Ketch: A young child caught up in a monstrous conspiracy who ends up in the care of Johnny Blaze during his travels.
    Ciarán Hinds as Mephistopheles "Mephisto" / Roarke: The demon lord who transformed Johnny Blaze into the Ghost Rider. Mephisto has fathered a child named Danny, and has plans for the boy.] Peter Fonda, who portrayed the character in the first film, had previously expressed interest in reprising the role.
