Arbitrage is a 2012 American crime drama film directed by Nicholas Jarecki and starring Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, Tim Roth, and Brit Marling.
The film follows the story of Robert Miller (Gere), a wealthy hedge fund manager who is on the verge of selling his company to a major bank. However, Miller has been cooking the books and is in over his head. He needs to find a way to raise $412 million before the sale goes through, or he will be exposed and arrested.
Miller turns to a number of people for help, including his wife, Ellen (Sarandon), his daughter, Brooke (Marling), and his former business associate, Jimmy Grant (Roth). However, Miller's choices become more and more desperate as the deadline for the sale approaches.
