A few days ago I brought you a movie called Kurayukaba, here you can read the review: Post! and I told you that this film had a kind of spin off, second part, derivation, whatever you want to call it; that's why today I bring you that story in question. When we see both plots we realize that they do not have much to do but at the same time they do, because in that first story the tunnels are the center of attention as in this one but here they are focused from another point of view. Kuramerukagari is a visual gem, just like its predecessor, it tells a very cool story full of mystery but still fun and entertaining and of course, the animation, the real strength of this pair of films.

Hace unos días les traje una película de nombre Kurayukaba, acá pueden leer la reseña: Post! y les comentaba que dicho film tenía una especie de spin off, segunda parte, derivación, como le quieran decir; es por eso que el día de hoy les traigo esa historia en cuestión. Cuando vemos ambas tramas nos damos cuenta que no tienen mucho que ver pero al mismo tiempo sí, porque en aquella primera historia los túneles son el centro de atención al igual que en esta solo que aquí los enfocan desde otro punto de vista. Kuramerukagari es un joya visual, al igual que su antecesora, cuenta una historia muy cool llena de misterio pero que no deja de ser divertida y amena y claro está, la animación, el fuerte real de este par de películas.

This is a story that relates things that a town is going through and does not allow them to be calm. In this place mining activity abounds, hence the tunnels; this activity is controlled by a company that really does not care anything about the welfare of the people so the residents are quite tired of the oppression they exert on them. In these tunnels there are some excavators called “Hakoniwa” which are a bit particular, you will see why. They are digging left and right turning this town into a labyrinth to the point that it is very easy to get lost but to avoid that there is a solution and she is Kagari, our protagonist.

Esta es una historia que relata cosas por las que un pueblo está pasando y no les permite estar tranquilos. En este sitio abunda la actividad minera, de ahí los túneles; esta actividad es controlada por una empresa a la que realmente no le importa nada el bienestar de las personas por lo que los residentes están bastante cansados de la opresión que ejercen sobre ellos. En dichos túneles hay unas excavadoras de nombre "Hakoniwa" las cuales son un poco particulares, ya verán el porqué. Éstas van excavando a diestra y siniestra convirtiendo a este pueblo en un laberinto al punto que es muy fácil perderse pero para evitar eso hay una solución y ella es Kagari, nuestra protagonista.

Kagari is a cartographer, one of those people who like to make maps, her life revolves around that since her mother was also dedicated to it. She is really good at what she does so many people look for her to know how to get around and know very well what is underground and how the city is connected. She and Yuya, a boy who is also looking for freedom from the Hakoniwa, join forces to find a way to do it but they discover that there is a conspiracy among the miners, gangs and people of this mother company that pulls the strings of coal. It is here where the story and adventure of these characters begins, which will take us on a journey that will try to save their people thanks to the drawing skills and precision of Kagari's maps.

Kagari es una cartógrafa, de esas personas que les gusta hacer mapas, su vida gira en torno a eso ya que su madre también se dedicaba a ello. Es realmente buena en lo que hace por lo que muchos la buscan para poder saber cómo moverse y conocer muy bien hay bajo tierra y como se conecta la ciudad. Ella junto a Yuya, un chico que también busca liberarse de las Hakoniwa, se unen para buscar la forma de hacerlo pero descubren que hay una conspiración entre los mineros, pandillas y personas de esta empresa madre que mueve los hilos del carbón. Es acá donde da inicio a la historia y aventura de estos personajes los cuales nos llevarán en un viaje que buscará tratar de salvar a su pueblo gracias a las habilidades de dibujo y precisión de los mapas de Kagari.

Both films are spectacular and have a unique style. Here again highlights the steampunk, that which is characterized by large machines and robots but there is also a somewhat more delicate image, perhaps a little kawaii, which is given by the aesthetics of its characters who happen to be quite cute. It's a somewhat strange combination but it works without problems because it doesn't look childish at all, in fact it continues to be a nice tribute to Japanese culture and we are always going to see details and things of everyday life very well incorporated into the plot. That for me is very cool because it gives it an important seal of authenticity.

Las dos películas son espectaculares y tienen un estilo único. Aquí vuelve a resaltar el steampunk, ese que se caracteriza por las grandes máquinas y robots pero también hay una imagen un tanto más delicada, quizás un poco kawaii, que viene dada por la estética de sus personajes que resultan ser bastante guapos. Es una combinación un tanto extraña pero que funciona sin problemas porque no se ve infantil ni mucho menos, de hecho continúa siendo un bonito homenaje a la cultura japonesa y es que siempre vamos a ver detalles y cosas del día a día muy bien incorporados a la trama. Eso para mi es muy cool porque le da un sello de autenticidad importante.

The plot is one that keeps you always wanting to know what is going to happen, there is a kind of mystery/suspense in the atmosphere that gives a vibe of intrigue to everything; not from the mystical or supernatural point of view, but from the angle of the people themselves and the secrets they keep. This is enhanced by all the conspiracy that is being generated which makes it unclear who to trust, who is telling the truth or who is right in their motives. In the end, not everything is so bad, and in favor of a solution we will also see the more cooperative side of the people, and although it is a story that incites distrust, in several passages we will also see a lot of union on the part of all the people of the town.

La trama es una que te mantiene queriendo saber siempre qué va a pasar, hay una especie de misterio/suspenso en el ambiente que le da una vibra de intriga a todo; no desde el punto de vista místico o sobrenatural, sino desde el ángulo de las propias personas y los secretos que estas guardan. Esto es potenciado por toda la conspiración que se está generando lo que hace que no se sepa bien en quien confiar, quien dice la verdad o quien tiene la razón en sus motivos. Al final no todo es tan malo y es que en pro de una solución también veremos el lado más cooperativo de las personas y es que si bien es una historia que incita a la desconfianza también en varios pasajes veremos mucha unión de parte de todos los del pueblo.

The characters are very cool because what predominates in them is curiosity and the desire to solve things. All of them, for whatever reason, are driven by that engine. Kagari because she is a girl who is as good as bread and the only thing she wants is to do what she likes and that's it, and by chance she ended up involved in everything. There is a character, Iseya, the owner of a kind of bookstore, who is a complete enigma, you don't know which side or side he's playing for, he's always looking to move under the shadows. Very good because it complements very well the goodness of almost all the characters. In the end they are all very human, that factor is relevant in this film and is what differentiates it a bit from the first one.

Los personajes son muy cool porque lo que predomina en ellos es la curiosidad y las ganas de resolver las cosas. Todos, por lo motivos que sean, se mueven bajo ese motor. Kagari porque es una chica que es más buena que el pan y lo único que busca es hacer lo que le gusta y ya y que por azar terminó envuelta en todo. Hay personaje, Iseya, el dueño de una especie de librería, que es un completo enigma, no sabes para que lado o bando está jugando, siempre busca moverse bajo las sombras. Muy bueno porque complementa muy bien la bondad de casi todos los personajes. Al final todos son muy humanos, ese factor es relevante en esta película y es lo que la diferencia un poco de la primera.

This film is in the same line as the first one, an adventurous tone with touches of a mystery in the air. I liked the previous one a little more but this one is still bad, it's just a little lighter and more enjoyable, it's not so “dark”. I highly recommend it, the animation is very nice, the characters are very well put together and it's something a little different from what we always see. I leave the trailer here.

Este film va en la misma línea que la primera, un tono aventurero con pinceladas de un misterio en el aire. Me gustó un poco más la anterior pero esta no deja de ser mala, solo que es un poco más ligera y amena, no es tan "oscura". Se las recomiendo mucho, la animación es muy bonita, los personajes están muy bien armados y es algo un tanto diferente a lo que siempre solemos ver. Les dejo el tráiler por acá.
