In this series of posts we are presenting current feature set (hidden gems) that eSteem Surfer is offering. Each post includes GIF animation with explanation to guide a reader through the process of using it. Note that these features are being improved constantly, you might notice some changes/additions in future releases.

It's highly important to download and use only legitimate version of eSteem Surfer from official source. Since the code is open anyone can clone, edit and build it on it's own so the app will look absolutely as original version but may contain some hidden Virus/Trojan code stealing your keys or do any other harmful things.

Official Site

eSteem official site is https://esteem.app (we've moved recently from https://esteem.ws for a better name). So please check the spelling or open the site from this post directly.

Then click Download button and you will be scrolled down to Download section.

Then you choose Desktop and it will lead you to our official github page which is https://github.com/esteemapp/esteem-surfer/releases

You will see a list of installer files. After that you should choose proper version according to your Operation System: .exe.zip file is for Windows, .dmg file is for Mac and .deb and .rpm files are for Linux.

Mac OS

If you are on a Mac you should choose .dmg file. In this tutorial we are using 1.0.3 version but probably you will download something more fresh if future releases.

.dmg is a disk image container used on Mac OS so if you doubleclick it you will mount a disk with eSteem Surfer application inside.

Depending on your settings mounted disk could appear right on your Desktop folder or in a Finder side menu. Just open it and you will see eSteem Surfer icon which you could move into your Applications folder right inside this window.

eSteem Surfer could be launched from the Launchpad or Application folder or using Spotlight Search: just start typing eSteem there.

Mac OS Security center will show this warning. You should click Open and probably confirm the first launch with your Mac user password.

Once everything is set you will see eSteem Surfer Welcome screen. Probably with such a welcome message.

Windows

For Windows you should download eSteem.Surfer.Setup.XXX.exe.zip where XXX is the latest version number available. In this tutorial we are downloading eSteem.Surfer.Setup.1.0.3.exe.zip which is latest at the moment of creating this post.

If you will unpack the archive you will see eSteem Surfer Setup 1.0.3.exe installation file or your file may have different version number if you will download something else rather than 1.0.3. Right click on that unpacked .exe file and check the certificates. They should look like on the screenshots below:

Running the file probably will give you warning message. Windows protected your PC.

This is absolutely normal. You just have to press More info and you will see next screen showing App name and Publisher. Please make sure you see the Publisher name as Feruz Muradov. If you see it this means you can Run anyway to install it.

You will have to wait for the application to be installed depending on the power of your machine it could take up to 1-2 minutes (usually just couple of seconds).

And voila, now you get legit eSteem Surfer install.

Linux

Our Captain Obvious says if you're on any Linux you don't need such an instructions but just in case we've made it. Here we took Ubuntu 18.04 for a sample. It can easily open .deb packages since it's Debian based distributive.
