Las apuestas son un tema delicado. Personalmente no me gustan en lo más mínimo. Excepto una apuesta donde no haya mayores riesgos, por mera diversión. Ahí es una cuestión casi deportiva donde el daño es marginal y causa risas de ambos lados y un orgullo levemente herido del otro. Pero en la actualidad más que nunca las apuestas son un problema serio. Los sitios de casinos y apuestas online están en una expansión agresiva en el mundo digital. Patrocinando a youtubers, gente de instagram y hasta canales de TV y radio. También aparecen sus publicidades en sitios para adultos.
Personalmente no tengo historia cercana con las apuestas y los juegos de azar. Fui a algunos casinos a jugar en mi adolescencia y adultez temprana. Pero honestamente me parece una trampa tan obvia y evidente que simplemente los ignoro. Recuerdo cuando entré por primera vez al casino de Mar del Plata. Cuando pasé el umbral me invadió una sensación de familiaridad parecida a un DejaVu aunque nunca estuve allí. Las luces brillantes y el sonido, variado y constante. Muchas máquinas funcionando a la vez, murmullos y música. Jugué un poco de poker, algunas tragamonedas y me fuí. Hay quienes dedican su vida entera al análisis de los números y estrategias ganadoras para conquistar el mundo de las apuestas. Si lo consiguen o no, posiblemente algunos lo logren, aunque no sabría hacer una estadística de cuántos lo consiguen. Como no me apasiona el tema no le invierto mi tiempo. El tema es que hay gente que vive obsesionada con el azar y pasa muchas horas de su vida diaria buscando cómo vencer al sistema. Sobre todo en los números de lotería, tengo amigos que incluso en ocasiones se llevaron algunos premios. Pero creo que a grandes rasgos nunca ganan realmente.

Hay cosas que hay que hacer con moderación y otras que quizás no deberían hacerse. No tengo fuertes opiniones en contra de ésto tampoco. El que quiera jugar que lo haga. Pero mi opinión del juego como fenómeno social creo que impacta negativamente. Aunque hoy día las campañas de reclutamiento y sistemas de referidos (muy rentables) generan una viralización y masividad que para mí es preocupante. Pero como dije arriba, si bien estoy en contra, no creo que habría que prohibirlo sino legislar duramente. No permitir campañas de publicidad masivas, tanto en redes, TV, influencers y publicidad en la vía pública. Los emprendimientos de reclutamiento como modelo de negocios también deberían ser prohibidos. Adictos al juego promocionando el juego y ganando por ello. Es sencillamente una locura.

También entiendo a las apuestas como un fenómeno cultural de la humanidad. Con una enorme y larga historia. Los primeros dados se remontan a antes de la historia registrada. Todas las civilizaciones humanas tuvieron sus diferentes juegos de azar. Prohibirlo no es la solución, debe ser FUERTEMENTE regulado. Solo debe ser para las personas que tengan ésta búsqueda personal. Las publicidades de redes sociales son muy efectivas y dirigidas por perfilamiento de personalidad. Las nuevas técnicas y modalidades de persuasión dirigida son capaces de generar atracción donde antes no la había. También es un terreno fértil para el crimen organizado, lavado de dinero y mafias. Por ésto prohibirlo también es completamente contraproducente. Hacer una casa de juegos de azar es sumamente fácil y hacerla virtual, mucho más aún. Prohibir una práctica tan popular es poco inteligente y nada eficiente. Creo que lo importante es la educación, la concientización y el control del estado en temas de salud mental. La ludopatía es una enfermedad real y con consecuencias reales. Destruye individuos y familias aunque también negocios y emprendimientos de individuos que caen en la quiebra por estas prácticas. Es un tema sumamente delicado que debe ser tratado con seriedad y responsabilidad.

Imaginen que fácil es crear una generación de individuos adictos al juego, que claramente es algo que genera pasiones fuertes y adrenalina.
No jueguen, esa es mi recomendación final. Dejen las apuestas para hacerlas con sus amigos y el azar para juegos como el RISK o el TEG. Tampoco está mal hacer una mesa de poker con amigos, yo lo hice en su momento y es divertido. Pero nunca pongas en riesgo nada valioso, aunque eso es lo bueno de estar entre amigos, que hacen que las cosas sean justas y saludables.

Personally, I have no close history with betting and gambling. I went to some casinos to play in my adolescence and early adulthood. But honestly, it seems to me such an obvious and evident trap that I simply ignore them. I remember when I first entered the Mar del Plata casino. When I crossed the threshold, I was invaded by a feeling of familiarity similar to Deja Vu even though I was never there. The bright lights and the sound, varied and constant. Many machines working at once, murmurs and music. I played a bit of poker, a few slots and left. There are people who dedicate their entire lives to analyzing numbers and winning strategies to conquer the world of betting. Whether they succeed or not, possibly some of them do, although I couldn't make a statistic of how many do. Since I'm not passionate about the subject, I don't invest my time in it. The thing is that there are people who live obsessed with chance and spend many hours of their daily life looking for ways to beat the system. Especially with lottery numbers, I have friends who even occasionally took home some prizes. But I think that generally speaking they never really win.

There are things that should be done in moderation and others that perhaps should not be done. I do not have strong opinions against this either. Whoever wants to play, do so. But my opinion of the game as a social phenomenon, I think, is that it has a negative impact. Although today, recruitment campaigns and referral systems (very profitable) generate a viralization and mass appeal that is worrying to me. But as I said above, although I am against it, I do not think it should be banned but rather harshly legislated. Do not allow massive advertising campaigns, both on networks, TV, influencers and advertising in public spaces. Recruitment ventures as a business model should also be banned. Gambling addicts promoting gambling and earning from it. It's just crazy.

I also understand gambling as a cultural phenomenon of humanity. With a long and enormous history. The first dice date back to before recorded history. All human civilizations had their different games of chance. Banning it is not the solution, it should be STRONGLY regulated. It should only be for people who have this personal quest. Social media ads are very effective and targeted by personality profiling. New techniques and methods of directed persuasion are capable of generating attraction where there was none before. It is also fertile ground for organized crime, money laundering and mafias. This is why banning it is also completely counterproductive. Creating a gambling house is extremely easy, and making it virtual, even more so. Banning such a popular practice is unwise and not at all efficient. I think that what is important is education, awareness and state control in matters of mental health. Gambling addiction is a real disease with real consequences. It destroys individuals and families, but also businesses and ventures of individuals who go bankrupt due to these practices. It is an extremely delicate issue that must be treated seriously and responsibly.

Imagine how easy it is to create a generation of individuals addicted to gambling, which clearly is something that generates strong passions and adrenaline.
Don't play, that is my final recommendation. Leave the bets to your friends and the chance to games like RISK or TEG. It's also not bad to have a poker table with friends, I did it at one time and it's fun. But never put anything valuable at risk, although that's the good thing about being among friends, they keep things fair and healthy.
