Way of the peaceful warrior - Work and Train^2

The blog of a soldier, sports enthusiast and philanthropist who is described by many as a jack-of-all-trades. I'll tell you about my life, what I do and what decisions I make on my way to my ultimate destination. If you can learn anything from me, then that anything is possible!!!

After getting up and my morning routine I dedicated myself to my book "American Sniper" and finished reading it. Then I watched the film version of Clint Eastwood again.
As always, there are some differences between film and book and in my next SteemIt post I will go into more detail.

Interval training

Today I went into the forest again to run intervals. Today I planned 10x 90 seconds fast with 90 seconds trot break in between.

I got along well with the pace. And since I apparently can't count well to 10 (I'm only an engineer, not a mathematician), I ran one more interval than planned. ^^

The training was top and my lactate threshold was raised from 5:03min/km at 165 bpm to 5:00min/km at 167bpm according to Garmin. The exact values are questionable, of course, but an upward trend shows that my training has an effect.

The next interval training I will probably be 6x 3 minutes fast with 2 minutes trot break in between. But we'll take care of that later; first off to the shower, because I stink like a wild boar.

In the middle of the showering process the shower hose broke. Yes... I must probably buy a new one and install it.

From training to work

I ate a nice rump steak with vegetables before I went to the hardware store to fix the shower. I bought a new hose, but also a new shower head, because the old one suffered a lot from lime.

Installation and removal was without complications and now I'm looking forward to the next shower :D

Now it was off to work. In the restaurant at Christmas time there are always a lot of people to eat and today was no exception. The next days won't be easy either. But a lot of work also gives money, which my account can handle well at the moment.

In January all taxes, fees, memberships, insurances and everything else will be debited in one go. January always hurts particularly in this aspect. And this year I can't even go snowboarding; that was the only good thing about January. Now January 2019 will at least mark a change in my life, because on 2.1 I will finally join the army. A new chapter in my life is about to begin.

What did I learn today:

  • There should always be a gasket in the shower hose. I didn't see it at first glance and therefore forgot it. This is usually the cause if it leaks after installation.
  • Short intervals are definitely less exhausting than long ones. If you start with interval training, you should start with short intervals and work your way up step by step.

Remembering the "good" old times, but @matkodurko and me finally finished. No more exams in vacation time :D

Actual Training Schedule!

At least 8000+ steps on days in a row:

115 days!
