Happy new week and a beautiful Monday to you all, hope you all had a great weekend, well, for me a had a very nice and beautiful weekend and I'm sure this new week will be favourable to us all.
I will be sharing with you today in this community @diyhub, the cutting and sewing process of a fabric book cover a made for my friend for her Bible, I must say I love what I do, using my creativity to put smiles on people's faces, and moreso this has really helped me to improve in my sewing skills, sometimes ago, I made a book cover for my new Bible as the old one back cover has torn,I couldn't use the Bible anymore because of how bad the cover is so, as soon as I got a new one, I quickly made a fabric cover to protect it and it was looking so nice and beautiful, my friends and other people in church admired my creativity on how I was able to use fabric to make a bookcover, my friend then handed her Bible to me that I should help her make a cover for hers too.
Let me take you through the simple process to achieve this.
To cut out the main cover, I placed the Bible on the fabric I intend to used with 3.5" away from left and right and on the top and down, 1" away.
For the lining, I cut out same measurement of the Bible on the top and down while same measurement was taken on the left and right side of the main fabric.
It was taken to the sewing machine as I sew on the top and down, then it was turned inside out making sure the main fabric is showing on both sides with ½" as seen below.
It was then folded in on both sides and sewn on it to cover the rough edges.
It was folded in on both sides as I sew on the tip of the opposite sides of the folded part and top stitched on both sides as well.
Then the Bible was placed in it just as seen below.
This is the final and beautiful outcome of the book cover I made for my friend Bible.
