Exploring a narrow street with art, architecture and eye-catching styles 📷 Málaga - Spain

Malaga's historic city centre is a myriad of streets and backstreets where it's easy to get lost. But it's also a great place to explore and get lost.

The most fabulous thing about it is the possibility of turning into a street you don't know and finding places you haven't seen before and very good places.

Many of the most beautiful things are to be found in those little streets that are only a few metres long, but are home to treasures. Many of these little streets are very narrow and all of them are pedestrianised, so that you can stroll through them at your leisure.

The streets in Malaga are constantly changing their names because they are not very long in a straight line and when there is a fork in the road they change their name.

I like to explore new streets and find out what is in them and on this occasion I walked along the street called Beatas.

It is not very long, but I made some beautiful discoveries. On one side of the street there are many other small streets and I enjoyed exploring every corner.

In this street is the Museum of Music, which was closed at the time, but it was the first thing I saw when walking and walking I ended up in Beatas street.

Then I saw this place where you can eat fish, so typical here, and as Malaga is the city of art, you can't miss drawings and paintings in every space.

This is a beautiful drawing of the cathedral that was in that eating place.

As the streets are very narrow, what I looked at most were the tall buildings, their windows, doors, balconies, decorations.

At a corner, or rather a crossroads, I came across this beautiful sculpture called The Bath of Diana by the sculptor José Seguiri.

20240806_181918.jpg

The most beautiful thing of all is that from whichever angle I looked at it I could see not only beauty but also different approaches and details.

20240806_181837.jpg

On the other side of the same sculpture you can see these animal heads from which I believe water is emerging, although at this moment it was not.

20240806_181925.jpg

Again I look up, as on many occasions, and admire those big old windows that I like so much. Spanish architecture fascinates me.

20240806_181942.jpg

The entrances to certain important buildings are highly decorated and the facades are always magnificent. You can tell it is a very old part of the city and yet well maintained.

Looking up I came to an antique shop called Los Remedios. A considerable amount of antique paintings were on the outside and some very amazing ones were in relief and looked like they were made of metal.

20240806_182030.jpg

Then this amount of antiques like vases, clocks, and miscellaneous items too old to spend a whole afternoon looking at. There were owls and I think they were made of silver. They were really beautiful.

Opposite the antique house was this corner with this magnificent building, the design was impressive.

As I said, I was looking up, to the sides, windows, doors, to the sides looking at the streets that crossed the one I was walking on.

The balconies, the styles, the artistry of it all, the architecture, there was so much to see that you couldn't see it with your eyes. You would think that because it is a lost, narrow street there would be nothing to see and I found so much. Even the inside of the corridors of the buildings are decorated with beautiful flower pots.

20240806_182315.jpg

On one side I see this beautiful wooden door, all the doors in this street are like that, wooden and old.

I look up and the corner announces a bar called El Carpintero. Even the sign was artistic. It was closed but its little tables were already set up to receive people and above them balconies full of flowers.

I continued my walk, always admiring my surroundings and the decorated walls.

Until I arrived at a wine bar called Los Patios de Beatas. This place surprised me and very pleasantly.

Not only its façade was beautiful with those decorations with flowers and lights on the entrance door, but also on its walls there were decorations alluding to the place. Even the menu where they presented their articles was artistic and rustic at the same time.

But what I liked the most were the tables that I will show you.

When I saw them I couldn't believe it, the tables had mosaics representing different landscapes and motifs of the city. There couldn't have been more art and for me that was phenomenal.

Take a good look at the details of each of these tables, it's wonderful.

They depicted the castle, the map of the city, the Mediterranean Sea and many other designs related to wine and grapes.

On this table the bunch of grapes is made with old coins, it's a beauty.

Just in front of this beautiful place there is a hotel called Alux, a boutique hotel. The door was open and seeing inside caught my attention. The employee invited me to see it and it was great. It also has another entrance where you can enjoy a good breakfast.

The decorations in the entrance, on the wall, all over the place, had a rustic style with macramé weavings and many handicrafts.

20240806_182543.jpg

But what struck me most was this table in the centre of the reception made from tree trunks, a marvel. I was grateful to be allowed to enter and take photographs.

Walking a little further on I also found a Venezuelan restaurant.

Its cute little tables, exterior and decorations showed the warmth of the place. One of the few, if not the first Venezuelan restaurant I have seen in the city and I loved it.

Even on the blackboard we can see what they offer to delight the customer.

Finishing the tour and leaving this street after it got even narrower, I ended up in another restaurant, a very elegant one.

It was the end of this wonderful street, full of beautiful surprises, art and pleasant places to look at.

I love exploring places like this, getting to know the city and discovering treasures along the way.

Thank you very much for joining me on this tour, best regards to all of you and see you next time.
