I've been playing Final Fantasy VII with Mods for the past 3 months. (Mainly the ECHO-S Mod.) I just finished uploading the last video of my recorded playthrough to 3Speak.
In this article, I'll list all the videos that make up this playthrough. I'll also point out some opinions about the whole experience. If you want to read my thoughts halfway through this series, I have already posted them.
ECHO-S Mod adds a full-voiced dialogue to Final Fantasy VII. It also adds a day/night cycle. I loved the former feature I didn't enjoy the latter one. The voice acting was high quality for a Free non-profit project! Still, it was inconsistent in parts. All the important scenes were amazing, especially in the later parts of the game.
My favorite parts were when Cloud and Tifa explored the true events behind Cloud's past in the Lifestream. (Watch it in the video 'Part 45' of the series.) I also loved what the ECHO-S Mod did with the Finale. They seem to have prolonged the ending FMV so they could have more voice lines in it.
In this playthrough, I made sure to do some of the side content. Not only the main story. Gathering all Enemy Skills turned out harder but more enjoyable than I thought. You really had to go out of your way to get some of them. One Enemy Skill, "Pandora Box" had only one chance of getting it in the whole game. Glad I didn't miss it.
After finishing the main story, I decided to go for the Super Bosses. Emerlad Weapon and Ruby Weapon. I only beat the former, and it took me around a dozen attempts to stand a chance against him. You can watch 5 of these attempts in the videos list below.
