A day in my homeland, Nigeria

My name is Eminimo Chantell, I am a native of Etim Ekpo LGA, AKwa Ibom State,Nigeria.

Although I live in the capital, Uyo, I am constantly connected to the whole state sake of my profession, Journalism.

Yesterday, a Jounalist was arrested for speaking up for the downtrodden, it's quiet hilarious for a nation that has passed a freedom of speech act into law only recently.

Amongst other complaints from public opinion like on facebook and other social platforms crying out injustice and found play and all of that ripples, what really bothers me is the police officer who was called upon to carry out the arrest.

It was an honorable member of the House of Assembly here who ordered for the arrest. The question is? Does he not understand that he represents the minds of the people? Did he seek any opinion of the people before action?

What was false about what the Jounalist wrote, the young man about his (politicians) second term ambition, confirming the greedy tendencies in it and outerky dismissing the effortless first term just as it is- non performing.

Well, he got lashed by the general public in a very bad light. His reputation which he sought to protect is now overly diminished.

People should have second thoughts before taking actions. As a politician, the interest of the people should come first before your interest.

Proper education is necessary for leadership. Note I didn't say formal but proper. Thanks.
