Could Hungary's Momento Park serve as a model for Confederate statues?

In late 2016, while in Budapest I visited a place called Momento Park. This open-air museum serves as the final resting place for many of the Soviet era statues which existed throughout Hungary during Soviet rule. It is a park about dictatorship designed as a place of reflection and to provide a history lesson to never repeat the horrors of dictatorship and oppression. Could a U.S. version of Momento Park serve as a final resting place for the Confederate statues and as a warning to never repeat the horrors of slavery and oppression?

Here are a few images I snapped while visiting Momento Park in December 2016.

UPDATE: Minor edit to clarify that Memento Park operates as an open-air museum rather than a public park.
