Washington, AFP The US government wants to privatize the International Space Station (ISS) located in the lower orbit of the Earth. According to the American media, due to the rising cost of ISS, the Trump administration is keen to hand over its operations to the private company over the next few years. From the launch of this station, the US has spent about $ 100 billion (about Rs 6.4 lakh crore) till date.

American Space Agency, NASA, founded the ISS in 1998 in collaboration with Russia's Roskosmos for international operations in space. The European Space Agency with Canada and Japan also helped in this. The US plans to privatize by 2025. "In the next few years, NASA will increase international and commercial partnerships of ISS," said the American newspaper "Washington Post" in response to NASA documents. In 2019, it is estimated to spend $ 150 million (about 964 million) on ISS.

It is believed that this plan of the Trump Government may also face severe criticism. Well, during the tenure of former President George W. Bush (2001-2009), America has entered into an agreement with private companies like Space X to help in various ISSS affiliations.
