SLAVERY NOT YET OVER

Hi steemians, I'm here to share with you a poem titled SLAVERY.I got the inspiration to write this poem after reading through many history books and finding out how painful our forefathers bore the sufferings of slavery.
Even though slavery appears to be a thing of the past now, I still think we are not free yet. Here, I will show you why

          SLAVERY

Many moons ago
With bangles in hands
And bracelets attached to legs
An ocean of disgruntled souls
Were taxied afar off
To a land of scorn

Each day on sugar fields
Sweat drizzled down their accursed covers
And radiation caressed their legs with pain
Their manliness was caught off
Their strength stretched to elastic limit
And their joule menstruated to vein
Their sweat mingled with drudgery
And with cruel hatred they loathed their Chi
Yet the white merchant did not stop
His bridle from lashing the blackness
Out of their melanin

Many moons later
I,an offspring,am stripped off
The old mementoes of my old men
I have to speak a white tongue
Lead a white life and learn the white ways
To them,I am a son without a song
A boy without a ballad
A child without a chant
An history without a book

But today I sing freedom
For a new us must emerge
Restoring our lost diadems
For nothing crowns us better than them.
