Going up the cable car to Masada in Israel!
Masada was a fortress that the paranoid Herod the Great had built. The palace and refuge on top of an imposing mountain was incredibly hard to access! The climb was steep and long! During one Jewish-Roman war, a bunch of Jews fled to Masada where they lived for two years while the Roman army set up camps and walls around the base of the mountain. After two years of surrounding the trapped Jews, the Romans eventually made their way up the mountain. The Jews living up there then killed each other for they considered it more honorable to die at the hand of a fellow Jew than to be slain by a Roman. They also killed each other to avoid committing suicide.

Thereโ€™s so much more to this story too though! Itโ€™s quite impressive!! ๐Ÿ‘Œ
