Women have been playing an active role since the beginning of photography. Although photography has not been credited with discovering, women are working with the pioneers of this world. Never printed photos for the husband, and never took pictures of themselves. Photographer Joseph Lapes discusses all his research with his sister-in-law. The first female photographer was the pioneer of photography, Henry Fox Talbot's wife Constance Talbot (1811-1880) and her family friend British plantist Anne Atkins (1799-1871).
