Chefchaouen: Morocco's blue city

Chefchaouen is located in Northeast Morocco. The city named "the blue city", takes its name from "Chouf" meaning "look" and "Echaouen" meaning "horns", a term that refers to the peaks of the mountains. in the heart of the Rif mountains, Chefchaouen is a true architectural marvel. Popular with tourists, this city is rich in history, authenticity and simplicity that characterize the way of life of its inhabitants. I was caught by the beauty of this extraordinary place, by its airs of province out of season, by the kindness of the inhabitants.

At the entrance to the souk, a few lively streets where the sellers of wool, slippers, olives or aromatics mix. And then, the deeper we go into this monochromatic labyrinth, the more we enter a quietude almost meditative. Here, a craftsman who conscientiously cleans his hands in the public fountain. There, some passers-by who walk at a quiet pace, absorbed in their thoughts. As the day fades, the blue of the walls is infused with mauve.

I let you admire the beauty of this city that is near my hometown Tangier hoping you would like the photos :)
