Hi Friends!
Continuing the hike towards the summit of Knutshoe mountain (check my previous post to see the beginning) we reached the spot before the final ascend. Unfortunatelly it was the hardest one on the way so far and we had to get back as the steep rocks were wet and it was really dangerous to climb them. Any fall for each side of the mountain would be a tragedy.
Anyway - the view opened before us was amazing!
From this hight we saw all curves of the river below, the magical colours of both lakes, the huge mountains in a distance partly covered by glaciers.
This was the type of views You want to see from the top... at the end of Your hard journey uphill - A Great Prize!
We spent there about an hour resting, eating, talking and enjoying the panorama around us.
I must admit it was worth the effort to reach this point, even we didn't manage to reach the highest top of the mountain.
The weather cleared out comparing to what we had at the start of the day so we enjoyed the sun and amazing light on the mountains around.
The patches of shadow and light were great! They brought the whole landscape into life.
I couldn't resist to stop every 5 minutes and take another shots...
Our way back to the parking area was slow but very nice. We enjoyed just being high in the mountains and didn't really rush ourselves to get back quickly.
That day was close to finish but the weather was still good so on our way back to the base, we stop by the river to refresh ourselves in a pure, cold and crystal clear water.
As a last part of this gallery - few shots I took with my tele-lens - a bit closer views to the mountains on the far horizon...
Hope You liked the shots I took there. It was amazing place - all the area of Gjende lake in Jotunheimen National Park is worth visiting!
