The Statue of the Sentinel of Freedom
It was designed by sculptor Juan Sajid Imao. The monument is composed of a 12.19 metres (40.0 ft) bronze statue on-top of a 3.05 metres (10.0 ft) pedestal. Imao noted that his work on the statue seeks to portray Lapu-Lapu as a strong and peace-loving man who is also ready to defend himself against those who threaten his freedom. Lapu-Lapu is portrayed not in a fighting stance but rather standing guard holding a kampilan covered in scabbard and planted on the ground. (Wikipedia)

Did you know that if you go to to Luneta park today you will find this tall monument of Lapu-Lapu aside from the famous Rizal Monument? The statue has a distance of 400 ft (120m) from the Rizal Monument, which represents a 400 year gap between Lapu-Lapu and Jose Rizal. Lapu-Lapu represents the muslims and Rizal represents the Christians in Philippine history. Whoaa!

The three Riders in the picture represents Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, and currently Mindanao is under Martial Law and is not yet lifted, Luzon and Mindanao have this unspoken misunderstanding but is under ceasefire because of the law, so there will be no long ride for these three riders until the Martial Law is lifted.. Goodluck!
