I am living in Matsue city in Japan.
Matsue is, for me, the finest city in Japan. It is full of art, old customs and wonderful people. The atmosphere of the ancient days still exists here. Many foreign guests and tourists come here because of the old cultural places and events we have in Matsue.
This city is trying hard to become a modern city while still maintaining the old ways of life. This is a very admirable thing to do.
The old customs are really wonderful and it often makes me sad to see the younger generation losing them. Let me encourage all of you young people not to lose your historical, cultural and beautiful heritage of the arts practiced by your forefathers.
