Cambodia Sunrise and travel tips

Story Behind this photo:

Upon arriving to Cambodia with my Girlfriend (agata), we took a Motorbike taxi to out hotel/hostel which was very nice, and believe it or not - we instantly got scammed by the tuk-tuk drivers. Persuading us to hire them to take them around Cambodia giving us the cheapest rate of 5000 Real with a deposit of 2000 - which we took and later found out that it was only around 500 excluding the $20-day pass to see all the historic landmarks.

Anyway, this photo was taken around 7:00am at "Angkor wat" prior to the 20-bus load of Chinese people with their non-stop photography.

Recommendation:

  • Do not take any deal when arriving to Cambodia, always talk to your hotel reception as they will offer you the best deal - and even then, don’t accept instantly and tell them that you will walk around see what other offers there are.
  • If you have a license, hire a motor-bike rather than a Tuk-tuk, You will see allot more with the day-pass for a cheaper price! – trust me, Fuel+ rent+ freedom you have = amazing day! That’s what we did in day 2.
  • Get up early and see the sun rise before all the Chinese sharp shooters
  • bring food and water from the local markets to save yourself money!
  • Please, Please Don’t elephant ride - see other posts ( https://steemit.com/blog/@kickjohn/why-you-shouldn-t-ride-elephants-in-thailand-but-enjoy-your-day-with-them-instead )

Thank you for reading and if you’re willing to donate to help me out that would be amazing too!
