The first two pictures below are a hot stopping place for prospectors.
The location of this rock in above pictures is between Salmo BC and Nelson BC. Nelson BC was the hub of activity during the gold rush around 1890 to 1920 and prospectors are trained to look for rust in the rocks as it is a sign of minerals worth money.

Once I got to Calgary I was able to pick up my 1985 VW Westfalia van and test drive it. The next picture is the beautiful new 2.5 Subaru engine put in. For those new to my blog I am moving into this 50-80 square foot van and living within my means of a $750.00 per month early pension:
The mechanic wanted me to test drive for 1,000 km and at 300 km it proved to expose problems with the shifter and is back in shop now. It was extremely fun to drive and with new shocks, springs, disc brakes and lines, transmission etc., it was powerful and a smooth ride:
