It's Turkey Day!

Back in Central Virginia the past couple of days for Thanksgiving with the family! Had some friends over tonight and wanted to bring my Thanksgiving to Steemit!

First off, I want to thank all of my followers, commenters and friends that I found through SteemIt. This platform is already changing my life and I'm sure it has positively influenced your life as well!

This year's Thanksgiving featured two different styles of turkey, this one was smoked over applewood chips and slow roasted for the better part of today. Started early in the morning at 7 AM with this!

Turkey numero dos! My mother cooked this big guy! Using smoked paprika, garlic powder and the special technique involves rubbing the turkey with olive oil as well as putting a half cut onion or a juiced orange in the turkey cavity.
This will keep your bird nice and moist for optimal munching!

Next up is some of my mother's famous butternut squash soup. It is made with local butternut and acorn squash, crystallized ginger, veggie broth with some half and half. The result is a creamy purée. To top it off, my mother and I used homemade candied-walnut butter in our soup!!

I hope that you are with your friends and family tonight enjoying good grub!

As you can clearly see, this plate is LOADED! Trekking back to my college town tomorrow!

Thanks for reading this, hope it didn't make you TOO hungry.
