I made some impulse buys after getting a new scanner and picked up a huge batch of slides a while back. These pictures span from as early as the late 1940s to as late as the early 1990s. These were from Goodwill and eBay (sometimes via estate sales). There are many thousands of these slides. I will be scanning some from time to time and posting them here for posterity.
This set continues a batch of slides that I bought on eBay a while back. I don't have as much to go on as to the ultimate origin of these compared to the previous batch I was working on. They came to me from eBay and most likely were picked up at an estate sale by the seller. Most of them seem to be taken in the 1960s and same individuals are included in many of the photos. It looks like there are some that were taken in Miami and some that were taken in New Jersey and perhaps elsewhere. I get the impression that Miami was a vacation spot for this family.
I believe that at least three out of four of these photos were taken on the same night in someone's back yard. Probably the backyard of the couple featured most prominently throughout this batch of slides. They have a camp fire in their back yard and it looks like they were cooking outdoors as well. There have been other similar photos in a number of previous sets but I think they were taken at various times. For example, I see at least one woman in these photos I don't think I've seen before. All of these photos were processed in November 1966 but I'm guessing they were taken before November. Based on how everyone is dressed it doesn't look cold enough for a November night (at least if these were taken in New Jersey or elsewhere in the Northeast as I think they were).
The third photo is the only one perhaps from some other time. It shows an older man sitting in a chair in the same house seen throughout many of these photos and probably has the backyard featured in the other photos. I'm guessing this is the father/father-in-law of the couple who lives in this house.
