I made some impulse buys after getting a new scanner and picked up a huge batch of slides a while back. These pictures span from as early as the late 1940s to as late as the early 1990s. These were from Goodwill and eBay (sometimes via estate sales). There are many thousands of these slides. I will be scanning some from time to time and posting them here for posterity.
This set continues a batch of slides that I bought on eBay a while back. I don't have as much to go on as to the ultimate origin of these compared to the previous batch I was working on. They came to me from eBay and most likely were picked up at an estate sale by the seller. Most of them seem to be taken in the 1960s and same individuals are included in many of the photos. It looks like there are some that were taken in Miami and some that were taken in New Jersey and perhaps elsewhere. I get the impression that Miami was a vacation spot for this family.
The first photo was processed in April 1965 and would appear to be of the birthday party of the man featured throughout many of these photos (along with his wife). The second photo has the same date and is probably of the same event. It shows the table set for a dinner for several people.
The next two photos were processed in May 1965. The first shows an older couple and the second shows a family. It would appear that they were both taken on the same day near the same time as they are taken from the same position. Everybody is dressed up so this must have been some kind of holiday or other special event though it is hard to tell for sure what. The flower in the ladies coat on the first of them looks like a Poinsettia so that makes me think maybe Christmas. But the hat the young girl is wearing in the other one brings to mind Easter which would be closer to the date these were processed (but the dress on the woman in the background looks like it is in Christmas colors). If it was Easter, it looks like it was a cold one.
