Lisbon - Part 1

Hello my friends :) Today I will share with you photos that I took when I was in Lisbon. Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and is one of my favorite cities. I will tell you a little about my trip to Lisbon, this article is part 1 of a series of articles that I will share with you about my visit to Lisbon. As you know, I live in Vila Real, a city a little far from Lisbon, about 400 km from there. So, I took a bus, the journey took about 5 hours and as soon as I got to the capital I left the suitcases in the apartment that had booked by booking.com.

The apartment that I chose to stay in Lisbon was quite beautiful and modern, If you want to stay in this apartment I recommend it. The apartment is part of the Sweet in group. They have more apartments around the world (Rome, Tel Aviv, Brussels, Paris, Barcelona). It is located in the Praça Martim Moniz (Martim Moniz Square).
This was the excellent view from the apartment - Castelo de S. Jorge (S. Jorge Castle):

As soon as I left the suitcases in the apartment, I went for a short walk through the beautiful Praça do Comércio (Commerce Square), and I had the opportunity to take this photograph to married couples.
Praça do Comércio, better known as Terreiro do Paço, is a square in Baixa de Lisboa, located next to the Tejo river, in the area that was the site of the palace of the kings of Portugal for about two centuries and is now partially occupied by some government departments. It is one of the largest squares in Europe, with about 36,000 m²

The Arco da Rua Augusta (Augusta Street Arch) is a triumphal arch located in the northern part of Commerce Square, on Rua Augusta (Augusta Street).
Its construction was programmed in 1759, after the destruction of downtown lisbon by the earthquake of 1755, and was designed by Eugénio dos Santos. However it was only completed in 1873.

I also visited the beautiful Parque Eduardo VII (Park Eduardo VII). Eduardo VII Park de Inglaterra is the largest park in the center of Lisbon and is commonly known only as Parque Eduardo VII. He was baptized in 1903 in honor of Edward VII of the United Kingdom, who had visited Lisbon the previous year to reaffirm the alliance between the two countries.

Near this park is the Jardim Amália Rodrigues (Amália Rodrigues Garden). This garden is a tribute to the Portuguese fado singer Amália Rodrigues. It was inaugurated in 1996 and is design by Gonçalo Ribeiro Telles.
